Description
Our client, Lentils Indian Cuisine in Torquay, is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Cook to join their kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience preparing authentic Indian dishes and a strong focus on maintaining quality, hygiene, and efficiency in a busy kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a wide range of authentic Indian dishes, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, including curries, biryanis, tandoori breads, and desserts.
- Maintain consistent standards of taste, quality, and presentation.
- Ensure ingredients are always fresh, properly handled, and safely stored.
- Manage kitchen supplies, restock ingredients, and care for equipment.
- Follow all health, hygiene, and safety guidelines.
- Train and support kitchen staff when required.
- Work closely with the head chef and team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Handle kitchen tasks independently with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
- Cert III in Commercial Cookery is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Cook, with a focus on a variety of Indian
- food recipes, presentation methods, and plating styles.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and the ability to uphold the highest standards of personal hygiene.
